The Nelson region has established a strong reputation for this classic variety producing many top award winning wines. Te Mania Chardonnay is an elegant wine made with just a little oak to compliment and show case the fresh fruity flavours.  It can be enjoyed on its own or with a wide variety of dishes.  It’s particularly good with seafood and white meat dishes.

Tasting:  Nectarine and ripe citrus/grapefruit characters with some light oak aromas. Delicious ripe stonefruit with hints of citrus on a full palate with a silky texture and a light background of French oak. The palate has appealing weight, texture and a long fresh finish.

Wine Making:  After pressing, the juice was fermented in French oak barrels where it naturally underwent wild yeast ferment.   The wine lees were stirred to add texture and complexity to the wine.  While sitting in the barrels for 11 months the wine went through a secondary malolactic fermentation to soften acids and to develop a richer creamy texture and taste.

Diet: Suitable for a vegan diet.

Analysis: Alcohol 14%,  Acidity 6 g/L, Residual Sugar < 1.5 g/L

This is gorgeously styled, showing grilled stone fruit, popcorn, cedar and nougat notes on the nose, followed by a supple palate displaying succulent fruit intensity with creamy texture and well-pitched acidity. Flavoursome and highly enjoyable.
